The Pharaoh Concept Aircraft

Finlan first took notice of this aircraft as early as 2008, discovering it through a roughly 30-second video associated with a watch brand. The original designer was undoubtedly a highly visionary individual with a solid understanding of flight. We believe the designer was likely an aircraft designer themselves, as the aerodynamic form and layout of this plane are exceptionally sophisticated and well-executed, a rare achievement. We are immensely grateful to the original designer for this inspirational concept.

Upon first seeing this aircraft, our immediate quest was to determine if a real version existed. Learning it was merely a concept design, we embarked on a journey of study and learning, determined to bring it to life as a functional flying model. We made adjustments to its dimensions and proportions to suit our purposes.

The absence of a physical prototype for reference, coupled with extremely limited information online, presented significant challenges from the very beginning of our design process. Pictures alone could not capture all the intricate details. Consequently, we undertook a comprehensive redesign, making necessary adjustments to the shape, airfoil, and structure. After all, this is an aircraft with a length of 3.7 meters.

The name “Pharaoh” was chosen because the aircraft’s tail section bears a resemblance to the silhouette of an Egyptian pharaoh. As a concept aircraft, it embodies a sense of mystery. “Pharaoh” also evokes the impression of a “mysterious king of wisdom,” which aligns well with the character of our aircraft. Furthermore, the pharaoh symbolizes luxury and power, and we believe those who desire to own this aircraft harbor an inner “imperial dream.”

The current Huawei-inspired livery you see features a red and black scheme on a white base, designed for high visibility in the sky. Of course, we can also customize other liveries according to the buyer’s specific requirements.

The aircraft is currently being produced with primary dimensions of 3.7 meters in length and a 3.47-meter wingspan. It is adapted for the K100TP turboprop engine. However, due to engine constraints, we had to technically modify the exhaust port location, changing it from the upward-facing exhaust seen in online photos to a side-exit configuration. The aircraft features a large wing area, generating substantial lift. It was designed from the outset to deliver stable performance at both low and high speeds.

The flight testing of the prototype has been successfully completed, conclusively proving the excellence of this aircraft’s aerodynamic form. One must acknowledge the original designer’s genius. Our next steps involve progressively validating other mechanical structures and details. The aircraft is compatible with a carbon fiber five-blade propeller up to 24×23 inches, achieving a thrust-to-weight ratio of 1.2. This ensures short takeoff capability and provides ample power for high-speed flight.

To meet strength requirements, our design targets a maximum load factor of 15G, ensuring the overall structure possesses sufficient strength to withstand high-G maneuvers. The fuselage is constructed from carbon fiber composite materials, with fiberglass sections retained in appropriate areas to ensure unimpeded and seamless remote control signal transmission.

The landing gear is designed to be pneumatically retractable, with tire diameters of 200mm. The aircraft is equipped with six 50kg and three 38kg high-torque metal servo motors to actuate all control surfaces. As this is a tail-dragger (conventional landing gear) configuration, a wheel brake system is not implemented. The speed brakes on the upper wing surface provide a simple yet effective deceleration system.

From a manufacturing perspective, the aircraft’s numerous curves and chamfers pose a significant challenge for mold separation. Rational mold design is a critical factor for the successful production of this aircraft. We spent nearly three months meticulously planning the division of the aircraft into modules.

The finished product will include more than just the aircraft itself. We will also provide matching cowlings, propellers, and specialized tools. A complete packing case will facilitate safe long-distance transportation for the buyer.

Currently, more in-depth research and development is underway for this aircraft. We look forward to presenting it to the world as soon as possible.
